2011 Graduates Soar Toward Higher Education

The Community Youth Development Program congratulates Tamanique Page, Brandi Nelson and Detravion White on their high school graduation and plans for college.   As members of The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), they’ve recognized that college can become their reality and that having a college degree greatly increases their earning potential. YAC encourages participants to identify the college environments that best suits their needs and helps them explore their potential.

Tamanique will attend Stephen F. Austin, in Nacogdoches this fall.  When asked how the YAC program impacted her decision to pursue a higher education, Tamanique credits the program with helping her to decide to attend school away from home.  She now hopes to take advantage of the full college experience by living and learning on the college campus. Brandi will attend Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, planning to transfer to Texas A&M-Commerce after completing two years of study.    DeTravion will attend El Centro Community College and plans to study theology.  Congratulations to our graduates and best wishes for your success!
