GOLD MEDAL KIDS BIKE CLUB
The Dallas Police Athletic
League (PAL), in partnership with the
Community Council of Greater Dallas, will be
hosting a free 14-session bicycle club for
ages 10-14 in the Vickery Meadow
neighborhood. The club launched on November
14. A local foundation granted funds for
the activity, the first of what are hoped to
be many fitness activities for area
children.
PAL is a youth crime
prevention program that utilizes
educational, athletic and recreational
activities to create trust and understanding
between police officers and youth.
The Community Council is the
fiscal agent for the Dallas Area Coalition
to Prevent Childhood Obesity whose mission
is to promote healthy lifestyles for Dallas
children through physical activity and
nutrition.
