SCOPE OF SERVICES Transportation Demand / Response


Service Description

Taking an older person from a specific origin to a specific destination upon request (this does not include any other activity). Clients request the transportation service in advance of their need, usually twenty-four to forty-eight hours prior to the trip.

Services are designed to serve the needs of participants of Title III funded Nutrition Sites who are unable to otherwise arrange transportation to and from the center.

Special RFP Requirements


  • Provide an overview of how the transportation program ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • Provide examples of how the program coordinates efforts with other local transportation providers to avoid duplication of services and maximize resources.
Program Coordinates Efforts

In Program Narrative:

  • Training plan overview must include: CPR, First Aid, AED operation (if Automatic External Defibrillator is available), defensive driving, and passenger handling and assistance, at a minimum.
