TEENS CAN SURVIVE receives 2013 Award for Excellence in Human Service Programming

Hector Cardenas, chair of the Community Council of Greater Dallas Membership Committee, presented the 2013 program award to Suicide & Crisis Center of North Texas’ Executive Director Margie Wright and Program Director Jennifer Mootz, at the Annual Meeting on November 6. The Teens Can Survive program began over ten years ago to provide suicide prevention and awareness to children and youth between the ages of 13-17 in North Texas schools.  In 2012 the program served over 14,000 youth by collaborating with public, private, and charter schools on awareness training, mental health checkups, and teen support teams.
