DAAA Activities

The primary function of the DAAA is to foster the development of comprehensive service systems to serve older individuals in Dallas County 60 years of age and older. This is accomplished through the following activities:
 

  • Serves as the focal point for planning and coordination of services;
     
  • Advocates on behalf of all older persons to create an awareness of the needs in the community;
     
  • Plans and maintains a comprehensive and coordinated system of services through contracts and directly to meet identified needs for nutrition and supportive services;
     
  • Administers a variety of federal, state, local and private funds;
     
  • Sponsors conferences and special events; and Publishes specialized resource directory.
